Another joyful Wild Life Drawing session, this time from Venezuela and Mama Tierra. We were working from reference photos and listening to the two experts: Lourdes Grollimund who works with Lermith Torres to protect the Los Olivitos lagoon habitat where the flamingoes live. It was lovely to focus on these iconic birds and really study them – the proportions are quite tricky to get right as in order to fit them on the page, the detail becomes very small; they are so long! I did a couple of paintings but I would like to focus a bit more on the head as they are so fascinating. One of nature’s marvels.
