Jennifer Moore
Illustrator, naturalist, educator
About
I have lived in East Sussex for 35 years and I’m a keen naturalist. British birds are my primary interest and I have always been fascinated by the natural world. I love representing them as illustrations; this gives me a chance to study them, although many are like old friends as I have been watching them for years. The Birdwatching Logbooks showcase our amazing British birds and are a great way to engage with the nature around us.
Recently the need to use my artwork to encourage a wider appreciation of birds and biodiversity has increased, and the chance to work with organisations to facilitate this has been a privilege. The logbooks are a brilliant fundraiser, and being part of the solution is an aspect of business that brings me a great deal of fulfilment. Some of my other art-based activities include volunteering as a visitor guide at Charleston Farmhouse once a week, and I am in charge of the social media for Soho Life Drawing, which I co-hosted pre-Covid.
In my spare time, I am a typeface and architecture nerd; I love cooking great food and walking my yellow Lab, Ned. I am also the unpaid personal assistant to a demanding black cat, and I (apparently) have terrible taste in music and films. I volunteer at Charleston Farmhouse once a week, and have a Substack here if you’d like to read about that.
