It’s quite a relief to get the logbooks to their destination in SE10. I have had nightmares of the consignment being dropped in a puddle, all the text being upside down, fuzzy illustrations etc etc. A worrier? Moi?
All is fine, however, and thankfully the client is really pleased with the book – another phew – and my printer very kindly sent me a couple of spare copies so I have actually seen them. They are so hard to visualise when on a screen so it’s great to see them for real. I absolutely love the colours and I’m so pleased I went with the cool greens, blues and purple as I think it works brilliantly for an urban environment without relying on grey.
The Launch is on Thursday 13th April (I have to keep reiterating that it’s Thursday 13th) so we have some work to do to promote the logbook between now and then. It is for sale on the NOW Gallery website if you want a copy, and there is a discount code for residents.
NOW Gallery is interested in how art can create opportunities for visitors and locals to explore Greenwich Peninsula in a different way. NOW Gallery curator Jemima Burrill has commissioned a bird watching logbook ‘Birds of Greenwich Peninsula’ by the artist Jennifer Moore to support our Ecology Park. It will raise funds and encourage all to take a walk and look for all the diverse birds that can be seen around the Peninsula.

I am looking forward to the Launch as it will be nice to see what the Team have organised, and there will be an art installation by Lou Doyle who I’ve spoken with about the day, so it will be great to celebrate birdwatching and how we interact with our local birds in such a diverse and innovative manner. As an artist this is such an exciting project for me to be involved with so, at the risk of sounding rather banal, I hope the weather is good!
