Blinktober
I am rather distracted at the moment as I’m trying to think about all the things which need doing before I go away for the weekend. I keep having really vivid dreams about being in the wrong place at the wrong time which is my go-to brain fuzz for travel-related apprehensions. I’m not worried about going away but there is a lot to do in a short space of time (as most of what needs doing can only be done just before we leave) and I’m using a new house-sitting service so I want to make sure I have crossed all the t’s and dotted the i’s.
Things are quiet with graphic recording this week though, and I’ve only got a few birdwatching logbook orders to fulfil before we head off. I do have a lot of baking, laundry, cleaning, and sorting to do but my lists are comprehensive so I’m confident we’ll get everything done. I have some admin to do too, including sorting out a load of outdated pictures and videos from a blog I used to write years ago, and finding my old posts was extremely nostalgic; I spent way too long down memory lane!
The Inktober prompt for today is FLIMSY and in honour of my old blogposts about my chicken-keeping days, I decided to draw a flimsy shed, as I used to end up constructing all manner of crazy coops to house newly-acquired poultry. I have absolutely no inherent skills with DIY, and my inability to measure anything and lack of patience and planning did not serve me well. Eyeballing things in art has far fewer consequences than with woodwork, so I am much better in my current role.
So here is my ramshackle chicken shed:
