Blinktober
Today’s prompt was RESCUE, and I mused on this a little bit. I find the idea of being in a perilous situation quite traumatic – reflected in my choice of films and books and tv shows – so I was wondering what to draw for this day of Inktober. I’m also not great at the idea of any other creature being in peril so my choice of subject matter was becoming more and more limited. The only saving grace is the thought of being rescued by a dog, and I always burst into tears when a sniffer dog finds someone in an avalanche or building rubble. I love dogs, and am fully aware that they are capable of tremendous acts of skill and bravery, usually for no more incentive than a tennis ball or a biscuit.
I am rapidly running out of space in my sketchbook, so am reusing old pages that I’ve covered with various types of paper…some better quality than others. Apologies for the awful line-work and confusing background, but here is a mountain rescue dog on a training exercise:

Just for balance, here are my dogs out with their friends, relishing the fact they never have to do any work…
