I’m getting to the end of my Fabriano Venezia sketchbook, and it’s always a slightly bittersweet finish, as I tend to bond with them and although the thought of starting a new one is motivating, it does take time to get used to a different format.
After the seals session with Wild Life Drawing, I was looking at some other species. I did a few pencil sketches, and filled them in with some leftover gouache. I love newly-squeezed paint for the birdwatching logbook illustrations but I can’t bear to throw away the remainder so I like to use it randomly on other drawings. I was really pleased with how these two drawings turned out:

I’ll be starting another Leuchtturm square sketchbook next so there will be a tour of this one coming up on my YouTube channel in the next few days.
