Last year I attended the Illustration and Print Fair at Eastbourne’s Towner Gallery and really enjoyed the experience. This year, due to popularity, the fair ran over the whole weekend rather than just the Sunday, so I was very pleased to be accepted to exhibit. I shared a table with my good friend and art buddy, Sam Tuffnell.
There was a really good turn out on both days, with a steady stream of interested people passing by. I really enjoy being able to explain about the bird paintings and hearing what people have to say; producing art can be isolated at times and it is just brilliant to have the chance to show the paintings off in their original state rather than simply online. Social media is fantastic for artists – not just for sales but also networking – but nothing replaces face to face contact.
I was fortunate to be standing opposite Paul Catherall, whose work I love, but all the exhibitors were of such a high standard. A number of originals have gone to new homes, and the stickers and mini cards proved popular.
