New Photos

of the Birdwatching Logbooks

I’m taking some better pictures of the logbooks, as I have hit a bit of a rut with my marketing. I read an interesting letter from an estate agent (stay with me) about selling houses, and whether or not it was being presented in a way that’s relevant to the prospective buyer.

I feel the logbooks need a little more context as my initial thought that people would use them, fill them in, and get themselves a new one of the same or different title has not really come to pass. I am often disappointed by the lack of thought in how the booklets are displayed, and I have to remember that although I know all about the logbooks and birdwatching, it may not be obvious to others–and those others are my potential customers.

So, I am channelling my enjoyment of creating photos and discovering good angles to show my little books to best effect. I’m doing some which show the logbooks in situ and others which are a little more stylised to focus more on the books themselves.

What do you think?

  1. I quite like the idea of this but wonder how much it might take to personalise areas customers might want. For me it would be Birds of Marple and High Peak. There is an RSPB group for High Peak. Wonder if approaching the different local groups would be an idea and then you would have a specific focus and a target audience.

    1. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment – that is a good idea. I have approached some birding groups in the past but they tend to regard them as too basic which is a shame as I have worked with rangers and ornithologists to make sure they are relevant. It’s not possible to be too specific unless I have a designated outlet as the booklets are costly to produce if it’s a small print run. I will revisit groups though 🙂
