a domino damsel

I have moved onto binge-watching Planet Wild and Mossy Earth as I have rather exhausted the permaculture channel, and their missions are nice little 15-minute packages which make for a nice break as I’m doing emails and getting my head around things. I am systematically working through contacts for both stockists and bespoke projects, and each one needs researching so I can work out the best way to pitch my introduction, and I find if I don’t take regular breaks they all sort of blend together and I start panicking that I’ve said the wrong thing or forgotten to switch things around in my template email. I also find I get quite tense across my shoulders as I’m concentrating so much!

So, it makes sense to send off a handful of emails and then have a micro-break as a metaphorical palate-cleanser, and stretch, and maybe do some catching up on LinkedIn or social media while I watch something uplifting in the background for 10 minutes or so.

I was watching a lovely reef revival mission in Indonesia, and there was the most adorable little fish which moved in to the newly-rescued coral, called a domino damsel.

Isn’t it adorable? I’m focussing on doing some art every day, and gradually working through my backlog of illustrations that need to be completed for the relaunch of the birdwatching logbooks, but in my sketchbook it’s nice to paint or draw something that is just fun, so here is my gouache sketchbook painting of this little reef fish:
