Fieldfare card

I wanted to design a card which had a bit more going on than just using a single bird illustration, as that looks a bit stark, but nor did I want to veer too far off the clean, unfussy white background.

I painted a Fieldfare with some hawthorn berries, and added the name of the bird in Baskerville which is the serif typeface I use in the birdwatching logbooks. I then sent them off to be printed by MOO.

I’m really pleased with how they’ve come out, and think they are a great blend of my usual style of illustration but made a little more fancy.

Of course, they are perfect for pairing with a birdwatching logbook for a postable present.
