I have been dog-sitting for my best friend today, and it’s a good time to catch up on some work if I feel like it, and podcasts or tv if I don’t. Today I discovered the Sister Boniface Mysteries on BBC iPlayer which is definitely in the cosy mystery genre, and just what I was looking for, and full of autumnal vibes. Exquisitely filmed, it’s set in the 1950’s (?) and the lighting and setting is thoroughly enjoyable. The plot is not remotely challenging but I am all for something aesthetically pleasing at the moment, as there’s enough trauma and drama in the real world so a bit of escapism is perfect.
I really enjoy drawing from tv and films as the actors and set are naturally chosen for visual appeal, and certain shots make for great thumbnails and studies.
To add to my enjoyment, I had just sharpened a brand new Blackwing matte pencil – my favourite brand and they are so nice to use for drawing.
