a spooky castle

I wanted to draw a kind of spooky cartoon castle, and although I think it would look better painted with more dramatic colours, all I had was my Blackwing pencil, so this had to suffice. I envisaged something slightly Scooby-Doo-ish, and I wrapped this up in about half an hour. It could do with some more detail but the problem with graphite is that it smudges easily and I wasn’t so invested in this drawing that I was prepared to get really grubby.

It’s been really good to have a reason/excuse to focus on some different subjects which I wouldn’t normally tackle, so I’m grateful to Blogtober for giving me the impetus to try some new things.
