So, a stroll down to the pylon-with-nest revealed not Peregrines, but Ravens. I could hear their “craw craw”before I could see them, and the light was poor so although I could make out the birds, there was no way of telling what they were up to really. I did take a little bit of footage on my phone; see below for the few minutes I managed to collect.
I really hope they do raise a brood, as although they aren’t quite as charismatic as the falcons, a breeding birds is a breeding bird and I will be thrilled to follow their progress.
I didn’t realize ravens were nesting in the south of England Jennifer. Is this quite a rarity for your area?

They are not uncommon, and I have seen them around here on the odd occasion for years, but I didn’t know of any specific nesting sites 🙂 now I do! 😀
