This session was all about Pop Art. I’d seen a few resources on the TES website about making a 3D sculpture using Roy Lichtenstein’s work as inspiration, and my mother had given me some coloured card so I decided to use that to create the artworks. I had made an example in Illustrator following this tutorial for the children to copy, and I also screen-grabbed an example of Keith Haring’s figures for them to use as well. I have a book on Pop Art which I bought ages ago, so with that and a dozen black Sharpies, and I was ready to go.



The children were all familiar with the Pop Art aesthetic, and we briefly discussed the origins and background. They had some paper and pencils to sketch out ideas, and then proceeded with their designs. They engaged really well with the task, and produced some great results:








They look fantastic! Very colourful. Looks like fun. Another exciting project.
